If a fishing venture or fishing trip in the beauty of Alaska isn’t your gig but you love your time as an angler on the water, then how about a fishing expedition at the other end of the U.S. in Florida?.

Fort Lauderdale sport fishing is one of the area’s biggest tourism generators. Because Fort Lauderdale and its nearby suburbs provides both saltwater and freshwater fishing, anglers can enjoy a deep sea experience, leisurely fly fishing or even bottom fishing.

The area is teeming with fishing charter companies and crews that can change every year. For the best experience, check out the resources below to find up-to-date referrals and fishing information.

The IGFA (International Game Fish Association) - World Fishing Center

The World Fishing Center, run by the IGFA (International Game Fish Association) is an incredible 3-acre park, museum and library that’s also home to a virtual reality sport fishing simulator. Anglers can practice reeling in a computer-generated catch, browse the library resources or even find a list of recommended local guides and charter companies.

You can visit the World Fishing Center daily between 10am and 6pm, or you can call them at 1-954-927-2628 and ask to speak with a librarian. The IGFA has a website at igfa.org. The site even lets you search for IGFA-certified captains in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Fort Lauderdale’s Hall of Fame Marina

Located on Seabreeze Boulevard, the Hall of Fame Marina is packed with charter fishing boat companies, offering a range of choice and packages for your Fort Lauderdale sport fishing experience. It’s possible to book ahead with your hotel or ask at the IGFA for a recommended company.

Fort Lauderdale’s Pier 66

Like the Hall of Fame Marina, the Pier 66 Marina is another hot spot for some of Fort Lauderdale’s biggest and best fishing charter companies. The marina can be found on SE 17th Street or by phone at 954-525-6666. Again, ask your hotel concierge or the IGFA for a recommended boat and captain.

Hillsboro Inlet Charters

Trusted by Fodor’s, Frommer’s and Forbes Traveler, the Hillsboro Inlet Charter Fleet has built a strong reputation for high-quality fishing charters that get results. The company has over 12 vessels, each specifically designed for pompano, sailfish, marlins and even shark. To make a reservation or an inquiry, contact them at (954) 943-8222.

Average Prices and Charter Rates

Your average bottom fishing boat trip will cost around $40 to $60 for a half-day trip, but that usually includes your basic fishing equipment and bait. Expect to pay more for a private charter, which usually ranges from $350 for a half day to about $600 for a full-day.

Nearby cities and municipalities like Dania Beach, Pompano Beach, Lauderdale by the Sea and Deerfield Beach also offer free or very reasonably priced fishing piers for anglers who prefer a more relaxed, Fort Lauderdale sport fishing experience. Most also offer visitors rod-and-reel rentals for less than $10 a day.

Beautifying your garden does not mean spending a fortune to make it happen. By following these tips, the person will be able to have a nice garden that people will appreciate.

The first thing that a person needs to do it to draw up your gardening ideas on paper based on the layout of your home. This should include the location of the sun at different times of the day, trees or other structures that are present in the neighboring areas.

The first thing that a person must do is check how much the project will cost. This should include the kinds of plants that you want as well as any other materials like rocks or wood that will be used to compliment your landscape gardening ideas .

Since there are people who do this as a living and who know more about landscaping than you do perhaps, you can hire professionals to prepare your plans. If you draw up the plans you might want to show the plans someone their opinion before starting your project. This will save time and money should you not like what the other person has planned.

landscape gardening ideas takes a lot of work. Rather than turning one’s garden into a construction zone, it is best to have this done in phases. This helps keep costs down and makes the plan flexible to changes.

Money can be saved by buying these materials during the “off” seasons. Wood for example is cheaper during the winter months. The price of shrubs and soil are lower when you buy late in the season.

Projects like this are done for the long term. To save on the cost of plants that must been bought and materials to be used as flooring, you may not to buy the cheapest. Those that cost a little more are preferable to others that are cheaper and damage more easily.

Check the local stores that sell gardening equipment and supplies for prices. You can also do some surfing on the web, and by comparing the prices that you can get nearby and those available elsewhere, there is a chance that you can get the same thing at a more affordable price.

After doing all the work, proper maintenance is needed your project looking good throughout the year. You can do by yourself alone by or enlisting the help of a gardener to check on it regularly.

Every meal you make yourself will save you a lot of money.

2. Go to built-in fun

With the price of gas, this is a really great tip. Before you drive or fly across the country, explore the great things that are closer to home. If you do a little research on the Internet you’ll be surprised by the great things you find. Try to keep your travel to under 250 miles if at all possible.

4. Go at non-peak

Everything is more expensive at peak times. So places that are built for tourists will jack their prices up when they know they’ll be packed with guests. But that doesn’t mean the summer vacation destinations aren’t fun at non-peak times. In fact, they can be even more fun. So try to plan your trip when it’s cheapest.

5. Look into rentals

Instead of spending a lot of money to stay at a hotel or motel look into renting a place for a week. You may be able to find a nice little cabin. Or you could rent a huge house and take a vacation with friends and family members. You will save a lot of money in the long run.

The family that plays together stays together. Therefore, it’s important to take a family vacation. However, it can be very expensive. 5 tips for planning a cheap family vacation are to eat in, go to built-in fun, explore close to home, go at non-peak, and look into rentals.

You need to consider the style of your new skateboarding deck before you get into the technical aspects. This needs to be on the top of your list because skateboarding is a lot about style. Who is your favorite skater? What is your favorite team or company? What kind of graphics do you like. You need to consider all these things because you want to be proud of the way your skateboard looks.

Now that you have the style part down, you need to decide what kind of skating you are going to use your new skateboarding deck for. This will determine what size your skateboard should be.

If you are going to be doing a lot of skating on vert ramps or pools, you are going to want to have a wider board that is a little more stable. This means you will probably want a skateboard that is 8.25 to 8.5 inches.

If you are going to use the skateboard for a lot of street skating or doing a lot of technical tricks, you probably want to get a narrower skateboard that will allow you to do flip tricks easier than if you are using a wider board. Skateboards that are 7.5, 7.75, or 8.0 inches are commonly used for this type of skating.

If you want to get a skateboard deck that will work well for all types of skating, you could choose a skateboard deck that is 8.0 inches wide and have a nice all purpose skateboard.

If you are just looking for a skateboarding deck to cruise around on and not really do any tough tricks, you could consider old school deck or a longboard.

Whatever type of skateboarding you plan to do, thinking about it a little before you buy the first cool skateboard deck you see will make sure your new skateboard deck gives you years of service in addition to just looking cool! Good luck on your quest for the perfect skateboard deck.

Possibly, the best way to restrict your selections is to examine some of the more popular orchid species. These particular varieties have been developed for their compliance to a home environment and are relatively easy to care for.

Dendrobiums are at the top of this list. This species of orchids offer a large variety of colors, from white to purple to yellow. The last of the three most popular orchid species is Vanda. It has a very unique look and exotic flowers. The leaves appear from a single stalk with the flowers growing from one of the leaf’s bases. This is very special because the flowers can number anywhere from five to twenty per plant. This species originally made its home in Indonesia, China, the Himalayas, Australia and New Guinea.

Choosing the Right Species of Orchids

While these three species of orchids are both famous and beautiful, there are literally thousands of varieties in the world. The key to choosing the species that is right for you is reliant on where you live and what type of environment you will be providing the plants. With the growing demand for orchids, and more people becoming orchid lovers, growers are experimenting and developing new hybrids.

Even though the novice seems easy to grow some orchid species, they are often hardier to enjoy for the indoor gardener. If you plan to grow some of orchid species, don’t wait any longer. Now is the finest moment to start a lifetime hobby of growing these daunting plants.

There are many reasons you may need to by skateboard trucks. You may be building your own dream skateboard. You may be upgrading your existing skateboard with some premium skateboard trucks. Maybe you have wore out your existing trucks grinding like a pro. Whatever the reason, you need to look at a few things when you are deciding what trucks you want to purchase.

The first thing you need to look at is the bushings. They are the rubber part that flexes when you are turning. You can remove these and replace them to customize your skateboard. Harder rubber is more stable and stiffer when you turn. Softer bushings are looser and let you turn faster. Most people are better off just getting a medium bushing and just having an all purpose skateboard.

For skateboard trucks, the dimensions are the next critical item to consider. The first dimension is the truck height. Low skateboard trucks are more stable and allow you to do quick flip tricks better. High trucks allow you to use larger wheels which go faster and are better for all terrain skating. As with the bushings, you can go with a medium height truck for all purpose skating.

The last dimension for skateboard trucks is the axle length. There really isn’t anything special you need to worry about here. Just make sure you match the axle length to the skateboard width.

There are many different brands of skateboard trucks and each has some unique features. Following are a few types of skateboarding trucks you may want to consider.

Tensor trucks have been engineered to the specifications of skateboarding legend Rodney Mullen. They are available in a standard and low design and are a great choice for an all around good skateboard truck.

Destructo skateboard trucks are another great choice. They make trucks in low, medium, and high. There are tons of color schemes to choose from.

Grindking trucks are great for grinding, as you might have guessed. The hanger is made from aluminum which leads to better and smoother grinds. Because aluminum is a softer metal, you will have to replace them sooner than other trucks if you do a lot of grinding.

Fury skateboard trucks are built to be heavier and stronger than most other trucks. They have several unique features including special bushings and a unique turning design which has a ball joint sitting in a socket in the base plate of the truck.

There are several other skateboard trucks out there so do a little research and find the truck that is right for you. Find the right size, construction, and color and you are on your way to a sweet skateboard. Good luck on getting the right trucks for your dream skateboard.

After you have chosen your ideal skateboarding trucks, you can save a bunch of money if you know where to shop. There are many great online skateboarding equipment stores like www.skateboardplanet.net where you can save a whole bunch of money. Surf on over to find great deals on skateboard trucks and all your other skateboarding needs.

If you’re planning an Alaska float fishing trip, the key word is “planning.” During peak season, quality lodges will book up fast and rates are high, but planning ahead can avoid both disappointment and excessive costs.

So, plan ahead, book early and know the best places to be. To find out more on how to make your Alaskan fishing trip a hit, keep reading for tips on what to bring, the best season and where to stay.

What to Pack

Because the temperature can vary radically in Alaska - from a hot noon sun to a freezing cold night - you want clothes that will layer, dry quickly and keep you both warm and protected. Opt for clothing made from quick dry fabric like smart wool or a performance blend and choose pieces that can layer. Ideally, you want long-sleeve shirts and pants that will protect you from both the sun and bugs.

Before you start packing all your heavy float fishing gear, double check with your lodge or charter company to see what is and isn’t included in your package. Of course, pack your favorite floats and lures, but many charter companies include larger equipment and safety gear.

And last but not least, the best place to spend your money is on solid rain gear. Though Gore-Tex is expensive and breathable, it’s actually not fully waterproof and will eventually start to seep after a full day of heavy rain. PVC can be hot and uncomfortable, but its impenetrable. So, whether you choose PVC or Gore-Tex, weigh your options, consider whether you’re staying in a lodge or out in the wilderness - and choose accordingly.

The Best Time to Go Float Fishing in Alaska

The best time to go on an Alaska float fishing in Alaska is from June to September. The weather is great, the salmon are spawning, the trout are plentiful and the fishing is amazing. Unfortunately, this is also peak tourism season. That means you need to plan ahead, reserve early and book in advance.

Hot Fishing Spots in Alaska

The best fishing spots in Alaska are

* The Kenai River, a water known for its huge salmon
* The Copper River Delta, a river delta teeming with salmon and trout
* Bristol Bay, an angler’s paradise and home to hundreds of remote lodges, and
* Kodiak Island, an island oasis that’s remote, isolated and crammed with fish

It’s hard not to have a successful float fishing vacation, but with a little planning you can make any trip a great one. Just remember to hit the best fishing spots, go at the right time and pack appropriately. Also, always check with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Sport Fish Division before you book a lodge or charter company. Their website is available at sf.adfg.state.ak.us.
